Adam Phillips (born 15 January 1998) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Liverpool F.C., primarily based with the Liverpool Academy.

Liverpool careerEdit

Adam Phillips- an attack-minded central midfielder- joined the Liverpool Academy at the age of 11 in 2009. At the age of eight, Phillips had trials with both Liverpool and Blackburn. He initially signed with Blackburn, but switched to Liverpool three years later. Phillips progressed through the ranks, and was noted as an accomplished goalscorer in the U15 and U16 sides. He was rewarded for his progress with a debut for the U18s in the 2012-13 season shortly after his 15th birthday, coming on as a substitute in a 4-1 victory over Sunderland on 23 February 2013. He made one more appearance for the U18s during that season, before taking on a more prominent role for the side in the 2013-14 season. Phillips was a standout performer for the side as he racked up 17 appearances and netted three goals. His form did not go unnoticed by senior Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers, and he was drafted into the first team squad for Liverpool's pre-season clash away to Brondby of Denmark on 16 July 2014, whilst still only 16 years old. He was brought on at half-time, thus making his senior Reds bow.

On 18 July 2014, it was announced that Adam Phillips would be one of only very few youth players to travel on Liverpool's pre-season tour of America. Phillips made his U21 debut in a in a U21 Premier League match against Manchester City, he scored two goals in the game but Liverpool lost 3-4.
