Liverpool career[]
Liverpudlian Wearing joined the Liverpool Academy at the age of 11 and progressed through the ranks to become a mainstay of the under-18s matchday squad. Wearing made the bench on 4 occassions for the under-18s during the 2010-11 Academy Under 18s season, and was on the bench for the majority of games for the under-18s in the [[2011-12 Academy Under 18s season|2011-12 season], however he failed to make an appearance for the side amongst stiff competition from the likes of Tyrell Belford, Jamie Stephens and Yusuf Mersin. In the summer of 2012, Wearing was released by Liverpool and signed a contract with Shrewsbury Town.
