Daniel "Danny" Wilson (born 27 December 1991) is a Scottish defender who played for Liverpool from 2010 until 2013.
Wilson joined Liverpool from Rangers, signing a three-year deal for the Reds on 21 July 2010 for an initial transfer fee of £2 million, potentially rising to £5,000,000 based on appearances.
He made his debut for the first team on 22 September 2010 in their shock defeat to League Two side Northampton Town in the third round of the League Cup. Wilson played a full 90 minutes in the Europa Lague tie against Sparta Prague. He made his first league start on 27 February 2011 in the away defeat to West Ham United. On 17 March 2011 he started in the Europa League tie against S.C. Braga.
Having since failed to break into the first team, Wilson joined Championship side Blackpool on 31 December 2011 on loan until the end of the season in a bid to help his development. On 22 November 2012, Wilson signed for Bristol Rovers on an emergency two-month loan spell. He returned in early January 2013, however he moved on loan again on 19 January 2013 to Scottish club Hearts until the end of the season. It was reported that the deal effectively ended his Anfield career, as his contract at Liverpool was due to expire in the summer of 2013 with no offer of an extension seemingly forthcoming. Indeed, Liverpool confirmed Wilson had agreed a deal to make his switch to Hearts permanent on 27 May 2013. Wilson's move to Hearts looked to have fallen through in June however due to the Scottish club entering administration with Wilson, however he eventually was permitted to complete his move on 30 June 2013.
