Emiliano Adrián Insúa Zapata (born 7 January 1989) is an Argentine footballer who played as a defender for Liverpool from 2007 to 2011.
Liverpool career[]
Liverpool signed the young left back Insua on loan from Boca Juniors on 28 November 2006. He made his competitive first-team debut for Liverpool against Portsmouth on 28 April 2007 and made his switch to Liverpool permanent in August 2007. Insua's first goal came on 28 October 2009 in a League Cup match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Insua spent the majority of the 2009-10 season as Liverpool's first choice left back.
Insua spent one spell away from Liverpool at Galatasaray which started on 31 August 2009 and lasted the extent of the 2010-11 season.
On 27 August 2011, Liverpool confirmed that Insua had transferred to Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon, penning a five year deal.
