Kristjan Gauti Emilsson (born 26 April 1993) is a Swedish-born Icelandic footballer who played for the Liverpool Academy and reserves from 2010 to 2012.

Liverpool career[]

Emilsson joined the Liverpool Academy in January 2010 from Icelandic side, FH Hafnarfjörður, signing a three-year deal. It is believed Emilsson turned down a number of Europe's other top clubs, including Glasgow Rangers and Manchester United to sign for Liverpool. Emilsson has played in defensive positions in the past, but is more frequently operating in an attacking midfield role for Liverpool, and likes to play as a second striker for his national side. Arguably the highlight of Emilsson's first year at Liverpool was scoring the winner against Manchester United. In the 2010-11 Academy season, Emilsson scored 4 goals in 7 appearances, which included a brace in his only FA Youth Cup appearance.

After only making 3 more appearances for the under 18s in the 2011-12 season, it was confirmed on 1 June 2012 that Emilsson's contract had expired and would not be renewed. He left the reds without making a first team appearance.
