Trivia

Liverpool tally of 18 league titles is the most of any English club with Manchester United being closest with 16 titles at present. Liverpool have also won the most League Cups of any English club and are currently equal top with Manchester United in the number of Community Shields. Liverpool have won one League and Cup double in 1986.

In Europe Liverpool are the third most successful club in the European Cup with only AC Milan and Real Madrid ahead of them. They are one of only 5 clubs to have won the UEFA badge of honour. They are joint leaders in the number of UEFA Cups won and are second in the number of European Super Cups won.

Liverpool have won 2 different trebles. In 1984 they won the League, League Cup and the European Cup. While in 2001 they won a unique cup treble of the FA Cup, League Cup and the UEFA Cup. In winning the second treble they became the only team in English football history to reach the final of both domestic cups and a European comptetition in the same season.
