Jack Hobbs (born 18 August 1988) is an English footballer who played for Liverpool from 2005 to 2009. He left Liverpool in 2009, joining Leicester City.
Liverpool career[]
Hobbs signed for Liverpool on 2 August 2005 for £750,000 from Lincoln City. Hobbs' first team debut came on 25 September 2007 against Reading in the League Cup, when he replaced Lucas as an 89th minute substitute. Hobbs started his first game on 31 October 2007, also in the League Cup, against Cardiff. Shortley after, regular central defender Sami Hyypia heaped praise on Hobbs, saying "It was a very good start for Jack, his performance was very solid and hopefully he will have many more games to come." Hyypia also likened Hobbs to himself, stating "I can see a lot of myself in him. I think he has similar qualities to me but I think he is better than I was when I was 19."
Despite this, Hobbs was unable to establish himself in the Liverpool first team, and during the 2008-09 season he was loaned out to Scunthorpe and Leicester. He then signed for Leicester on a permanent basis on 24 April 2009 for an undisclosed fee.
