Marc Pelosi (born 17 June 1994) is a German-born American footballer who played as a midfielder for the Liverpool Under 21s from 2011 to 2015.

Liverpool careerEdit

Pelosi signed for Liverpool in November 2011 from American club De Anza Force, based in California. The young starlet had already caught the attention of a number of top clubs when Liverpool scouts noticed his talents in the 2011 Under 17 FIFA World Cup, where he captained his country to the last 16. Speaking to Liverpool FC TV, Academy director Frank McParland said of the signing: "There were a lot of sides interested both home and abroad - as well as in the USA - so to sign him is a bit of a coup for us."

Pelosi quickly found himself playing regularly for the Under 18s in his debut season- making his bow as a second half substitute in a 1-1 draw against Crewe on 5 November. He also made his Reserve team debut shortly after signing, appearing as a substitute in a 4-2 loss against Blackburn on 24 January 2012. Unfortunately for Pelosi however, his season was abruptly cut short by injury and he saw out the remainder of the campaign from the sidelines with only a handful of appearances to his name.

He made his comeback in the Under 18s' pre season 8-1 victory over Exeter on 14 July 2012, during which he netted the side's fourth goal of the game. He followed this up with a goal in the Reserves' pre season match against the USA Under 20s on 19 July. He continued his impressive form by netting a brace for the Under 21s against Manchester City on 3 September 2012, as he filled in a role further forward behind the striker.

On 18 February 2013, Pelosi suffered a broken leg in the Under 21s clash against West Brom. The challenge ended Pelosi's season. He had played 17 games and scored three goals. Pelosi's recovery took over a year, and it wasn't until the U21s match against Chelsea on 7 April 2014 that he made his long-awaited return to action.

On 10 June 2015, it was confirmed that Pelosi had not been offered a new contract, and would be released from the club.

Playing styleEdit

Described as a versatile footballer, capable of playing anywhere on the left flank or at central midfield, Pelosi is tipped for a bright future at Liverpool.
