Mark Dennis González Hoffman (born 10 July 1984) is a Chilean footballer who played for Liverpool from 2006-2007. He left Liverpool after just one season, joining Spanish side Real Betis
Liverpool career[]
Gonzalez was signed from Albacete on 6 July 2006 for £4,500,000. He was given the number 11 shirt and made his debut in a friendly against Crewe Alexandra as a half time substitute. His first appearance in a competitive match was against Israeli club Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League third qualifying round first leg on 9 August 2006, coming on as a 85th minute substitute for Steven Gerrard. He scored an 88th minute goal in that match, putting Liverpool into a 2-1 lead. His first league match came against Sheffield United on 19 August 2006.
He was sold to Real Betis just a year after his spell at Liverpool for £5,000,000. He made 36 appearances in his sole season at Anfield, scoring three goals.
