Michael Wilson (born 24 January 1995) is a youth footballer who played for the Liverpool Academy as a defender from 2007 until 2012.
Liverpool career[]
Wilson was with Liverpool since the age of 12. He was held in high regard as a centre back who can also fill in at right back when needed. He has a penchant for heading and is well adept at bringing the ball out of defence. After impressing with the under-16s, Wilson made his step up to the under-18 squad for the 2011-12 season and made seven appearances. Unfortunately Wilson decided to leave Liverpool to increase his playing opportunities at the end of the season, and was allowed to leave in the summer, bringing his five year spell in the Liverpool youth sides to a close. He immediately signed for Wigan AFC.
