Miquel "Miki" Roqué Farrero (born 8 July 1988 - died 24 June 2012) was a Spanish footballer who played for Liverpool from 2005-2009. The majority of his Liverpool career was spent on loan to other clubs, and he left permanently in 2009 when he was released to sign for Real Betis.

Liverpool careerEdit

Roque signed for Liverpool from Spanish side Lleida in the summer of 2005, and was initially deployed in the youth team. He helped Liverpool take the 2006 FA Youth Cup trophy, scoring in the final against Man City. He was promoted to the first team for the 2006-07 season, but only made one appearance - against Galatasaray on 5 December 2006 in a Champions League group stage match - due to the presence of Jamie Carragher, Sami Hyypia and Daniel Agger.

He joined League One side Oldham for the end of the season. The rest of his Liverpool career was spent on loan; to Xerez in the 2007-08 season and Cartagena for the 2008-09 season. He was released on 16 June 2009.

DeathEdit

Roque sadly passed away at the age of just 23 after a battle with cancer. Liverpool ran stories on their official website to pay tribute to the youngster, stating "Everyone at Liverpool Football Club would like to send their thoughts to Miki's family at this sad time."
