Nathan Burke (born 15 September 1995) is an English footballer who played as a midfielder for the Liverpool Academy until 2014.

Liverpool careerEdit

Local-born Burke has been a member of the Liverpool Academy from Under 10 level onwards. He got his first taste of Under 18s football in the 2011-12 pre season, coming on as a substitute in a 7-0 rout of Preston North End on 20 July 2011. He earned the chance to play competitively for the Under 18s at the end of the 2011-12 season, stepping up from the Under 16s to make his debut in a 4-3 defeat to West Brom on 24 March 2012. Burke started the match and played 70 minutes before he was substituted for Jordan Rossiter. Burke made two more appearances for the Under 18s before the end of the season. Burke was expected to feature more prominently for the Under 18s in the 2012-13 season, and was also named as a squad member for the 2012-13 NextGen Series. Burke amassed eight appearances for the U18s during the season, but didn't make an appearance in the NextGen series. In the 2013-14 season, Burke scored two goals in 15 appearances for the U18s

However, in July 2014 it was confirmed that Burke had signed for non-league Warrington Town.

Playing styleEdit

Burke is described by Liverpool as a "fierce competitor" with a good work ethic. He is versatile, capable of playing at right-back as well as in his favoured position at central midfield.
