Patrice Luzi Bernardi (born 8 July 1980) is a former French footballer who played as a Goalkeeper for Liverpool from 2002 to 2005.

Liverpool career[]

Despite only ever playing two senior games, Gerard Houllier signed Luzi from Ajaccio in 2002. During his first season, the Frenchman failed to make an appearance, being firmly behind Jerzy Dudek and Chris Kirkland in the pecking order.

In January 2004, Luzi made his first and only appearance for the club, keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Chelsea. Despite his career being underway, Houllier then brought in veteran goalkeeper Paul Jones on loan, which all but ended Luzi's chance of becoming first choice keeper.

The Frenchman failed to impress the new manager Rafael Benitez, who then brought in teenager Scott Carson. Luzi was released by the club in the summer of 2005, with only one appearance for the club.
