Sebastián Eduardo Leto Lées (born 30 August 1986) is an Argentine professional footballer who played as a left-winger for Liverpool from 2007-2009. Leto left Liverpool for Panathinkaikos in July 2009.
Liverpool career[]
Leto joined Liverpool on 10 August 2007 for £1,850,000 from Argentinian side Lanus. Upon joining, Leto said "There were a number of offers in from Argentinian and Spanish clubs, but as soon as Liverpool expressed an interest, it became a very easy decision. It is one of the biggest clubs, and they are always playing for so many trophies. Liverpool has such a good image in Argentina - I was always aware of them as a kid."
His first competitive game for Liverpool came on 28 August 2007 in a Champions League match against Toulouse. He made three further appearances in the 2007-08 season - two in the League Cup and one in the Champions League - but complications with his passport meant he was unable to play in the League. Instead of allowing Leto's presence at Liverpool dwindle into reserve football, Rafael Benitez loaned him out to Greek club Olympiacos for the 2008-09 season. The following season he was sold to Olympiacos' rivals, Panathanikos on 23 June 2009.
