Sergi Canos Tenes (born 2 February 1997) is a Spanish footballer who played as a forward for Liverpool from 2013 to 2016.
A product of the renowned Barcelona youth academy, the highly-rated Canos was recruited to Liverpool in the summer of 2013. It was reported that Barcelona were loathe to see Canos leave, with them even making an official complaint to the Spanish FA over the move. It is thought Liverpool beat other top English clubs to Canos' signature. Canos made his first appearance in a Liverpool shirt on 23 July 2013, in an U18s 4-1 pre-season friendly victory over Birmingham. Canos came on as a second half substitute and netted the fourth goal. Canos has been made to wait to compete competitively for the Reds, with the club waiting for international clearance.
His clearance came in time for the youngster to make his competitive debut on 9 November 2013, in a 3-1 U18s victory over Stoke. He scored his first goal of the season on 23 November 2013, in a 2-0 win against Wolves. Canos had a steady first season for the U18s, scoring three goals in 17 appearances.
On 31 August 2015, it was confirmed that Canos would spent half of the 2015-16 season at Brentford.
On 15 May 2016, young Canos was rewarded for his good spell at Brentford with a debut against the Hawthorns coming on at the 81st minute of the game to try and help the reds clinch the wiinner, however the game ended 1-1.
Despite this, reports emerged that Canos had rejected a new contract with the club, and the Spaniard was linked with a move away to Norwich. On 13 July 2016, Norwich confirmed that Canos had signed for a fee of £2,500,000, with another potential £2,000,000 in add-ons. Some reports also claimed that Liverpool had included a buy-back clause in the deal, but this was unconfirmed.
