Thomas Christopher "Tom" Ince (born 30 January 1992) is a professional footballer who played for Liverpool from 2008-2011. He left Liverpool in August 2011, joining Championship side Blackpool. He is the son of former Liverpool captain Paul Ince.

Liverpool careerEdit

Having progressed through the youth ranks since 2008, Ince was brought into the Liverpool first team for the 2010-11 season by Roy Hodgson. His first inclusion in a matchday squad came against Rabotnicki on 29 July 2010 in a Europa League qualifying match- he was an unused substitute. His debut came on 22 September 2010 when he made a substitute appearance in a League Cup tie with Northampton Town- notoriously culminating in a shock penalty-shootout victory for the League 2 side. Shortly after this however, he was taken on loan by Notts County (managed by Paul Ince at the time) on 1 November 2010.

Ince was highly rated by Liverpool and- with his contract nearing it's end- the club made numerous attempts to tie down the youngster's long-term future, reportedly including making him a contract offer that would have made him the club's highest-paid Reserve player. Ince however rejected the offers and on 4 August 2011, Blackpool confirmed they had signed Ince on an initial two-year deal. Blackpool paid Liverpool a compensation fee, however Liverpool are believed to have negotiated a sell-on clause of up to 35% with the Seasiders.
