You'llNeverWalkAlone

You'll Never Walk Alone is the anthem of Liverpool. It also features on the Liverpool crest and on the Shankly Gates. It is sung by supporters before every home match.

OriginsEdit

The song originates from the 1945 musical Carousel and was written by Rodgers and Hammerstein. The version most commonly connected to the club is by Gerry and the Pacemakers, a Liverpudlian pop group. Since being sung by Liverpool supporters in the early 60s, the song has spread to other football clubs throughout the world. The song has also been recorded in different styles by other artists, including Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Placido Domingo, Patti La Belle, and Tammy Wynette.

LyricsEdit

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark

Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark

Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk

You'll never walk
You'll never walk alone.
